Interesting bike commute home today.
I’m riding along out by Airport blvd…this guy comes storming out of Wendy’s and crosses the eastbound lane to get into the westbound lane. I see the car out of the corner of my eye (i’m running about 16mph) and slam on my brakes and swerve right to avoid t-boning him almost flying over my bars. The car gets stopped at a red light ahead of me…
me: *knock knock* (on passenger window)
guy: whats up?!
me: are you frikkin kidding me?!! you just about ran me over?!
guy: oh i’m sorry, i was looking in my bag
me: wtf are you looking in your bag for? you’re pulling into traffic!
guy: why are you so upset?!!
me: BECAUSE IT’S MY LIFE’S ON THE LINE HERE…you think I should be okay that you didn’t see me and almost ran over a cyclist because of your damn fries?!
guy: you know wha…you know what?! *takes off seat belt*
me: oh please get out of your car and give me a reason.
(guy speeds off running the end of the yellow light)
I know I’m not always the most coherent driver when on the road but it things like this that are freaking ridiculous! Please be safe everyone!

Classic story about the dude and his fries…. not that I advocate violence, but woulda been sweet had that dude got out of his car only to be cold cocked by a dude on a bike… drivers are idiots… can’t tell you the numbers of times I’ve almost been hit both running (always run against traffic and inevitably someone pulls out of a parking lot on a right hand turn only and never actually looks right) and biking. I live in So Cal and often ride the dreaded laguna beach stretch along PCH… along with a tight road you have latte sipping, texting drivers which makes for a fun combo! Have fun…. enjoyed your blog !

the cervelo has been great. Its a great size and the fit and feel is wonderful. It’s not too stiff and just all around looks good. actually just scooped up another Dual for the woman- silver/ DA components in mint condition for cheap! so now we’re a cervelo family!
